Questions couples ask before calling..
We are an out-of-network private practice, meaning we do not bill insurance carriers directly. If your insurance plan covers out-of-network mental health services, we can provide you with a monthly statement (superbill) to submit for reimbursement. We operate this way to protect your absolute privacy, ensure we do not have to assign a medical diagnosis to your relationship, and focus entirely on high-quality clinical outcomes.
Our standard couples sessions are 75 to 90 minutes. This is longer than traditional 50-minute individual sessions because couples work is dynamic and complex. We spend very little time rehashing daily logistics or complaining about chores. Instead, we map your negative cycle in real-time, look at the emotions under your triggers, and actively practice new, connecting responses right inside the office.
It is extremely common for one partner to feel nervous, skeptical, or defensive about relationship work. If your partner is hesitant, we suggest scheduling a 15-minute consultation together so they can ask questions and see that our process is non-judgmental and collaborative. If they still refuse, you can still begin individual relationship coaching to map your cycle and alter your own responses, which often shifts the dynamic at home.
For our specialized Couples Therapy, Infidelity Recovery, Premarital Coaching, and Executive Couples Coaching programs, we are structured as educational coaching packages, allowing us to work with high-performing couples nationwide and internationally.
